Learn By Doing

Mustangs For Hope provides free, virtual academic assistance to K-12th grade children through one-on-one tutoring with an SMU undergraduate student. Each child is matched with a tutor who they will meet with weekly throughout the school year to boost their academic performance and encourage them in their personal journey. Our hope is that consistent meetings with a college-aged student will provide a level of mentorship for our children that they otherwise would not have access to. MFH currently tutors over 120 children with the help of 100 SMU tutors. SMU tutors are specialized in a variety of subjects, and we capitalize upon their knowledge by pairing them with a student whose academic weaknesses will benefit from their strengths.

Tutoring takes place Mondays through Fridays from 3 to 7 PM with sessions being offered for an hour, on the hour. Adjustments can be made if necessary to accommodate your schedule. If you or someone you know would like to get involved, please complete a student or tutor registration form, and we look forward to working with you!

Beyond the Books

Mustangs For Hope is passionate about offering in-person fellowship events for tutors to get to know and interact with our students. Such events include Fall and Spring carnivals, A-Day-In-The-Life at SMU campus tours with tutors and limited in-person tutoring opportunities that take place in SMU’s Cox School of Business. We are excited for our Fall fellowship events, and can’t wait to keep you updated on what’s to come!
